Welcome Design + Make,
In this course, led by Christian Blyt, Emily Carr students took their previous experience of designing and manufacturing objects to a higher degree by following the WALRUS identity and capturing it into the home accessories displayed. Through the exploration of the partial cycle of design activities: observation and analysis, research, planning, design conceptualization, detail development and documentation, students worked in teams to make intuitive design solutions for their wood products. The students were exposed to a broad spectrum of manufacturing methods and systems that are required in the production of wood based products. They also designed and produced the item’s brand identity and packaging.
Throughout the semester, I was lucky to be part of the conversation from initial concepts to final ideation. So proud of these students and how thoughtful they were about their final execution of products!
Come join us at the event, meet the designers and the instructor behind the collaboration.
